Ben Singer: guitar, organ

We all need a home, but finding your own place can be hard. Sometimes, you have to just have to make it yourself.

Buster Keaton presents one such endeavor in his first released film, a short silent comedy called “One Week”. A newly-married couple take delivery of their new home, but some assembly is required — and mischief is at hand. Made in 1920 with no special effects and little regard to safety, Buster made one of the funniest films you will ever see.

Ben Singer will accompany “One Week” on guitar with his own score.

Last year, Ben took a fresh look at the Hammond organ. Using the organ’s drawbars, a precisely-timed delay, and little else, the Hammond became a gritty kind of additive synthesizer, both ethereal and earthy. This new music became a new film score, and this premiere will precede the comedy. We promise an educational and inspiration journey through your home at large — the universe.

Tickets are $10, doors open at 8:00, and showtime is 8:30.
